ESPURNES BARROQUES 2025

Spain / Riner and 22 other municipalities

Are jewels superfluous? And what about adventitious plants? It might seem so, as they appear to have little to do with agriculture, which is what we truly need to sustain ourselves. But sometimes, things are not what they seem. That is why, in this eighth edition of the Espurnes Barroques festival, we invite you to think on these questions while enjoying music, heritage, and gastronomy in around twenty municipalities across Central Catalonia.

Throughout fifteen concerts (half of them self-produced), five workshops, two round tables, two visual art installations, a vineyard lunch, and many other activities, we may come to the conclusion that both jewels and adventitious plants are, in fact, essential to us, as seen in this year’s festival poster. A poster in which soprano Raquel Andueza (who lost her voice) has joyfully agreed to adorn herself with a mallow pendant and rosehip earrings, both of which have wonderful properties for the throat. Because what is singing, if not embellished speech? And what is our voice, if not the jewel that allows us to express who we are?

With jewels as our symbol, and with more than 70 social and educational activities (the true treasure of our Foundation), we have crafted fine goldsmithing to offer you five spring weekends filled with activities. Will you join us in this song of joyful living, putting jewels on ourselves together?
