Ensemble Dolci Accenti Invited to the Barockada Festival in Alba Iulia, Romania

An important international recognition for Ensemble Dolci Accenti, which has been invited to participate in the first edition of the Barockada Festival, an international early music festival taking place in Alba Iulia, Romania, from 14 to 18 July 2026.

This inaugural edition of the festival is organized in collaboration with Associazione Dolci Accenti and the Note Senza Tempo International Early Music Festival, establishing a partnership that aims to foster artistic exchange and educational cooperation across Europe.

As part of the festival, the members of the ensemble will lead a series of masterclasses for young musicians and participants wishing to deepen their knowledge of early music repertoire and historically informed performance practice. Barockada has been conceived as an international educational platform, combining individual lessons with chamber music, ensemble coaching, orchestral projects, and daily concerts.

The members of Ensemble Dolci Accenti will teach the following courses:

  • Daniele Cernuto: Baroque Cello, Baroque Singing, and Ensemble Music;
  • Calogero Sportato: Baroque Guitar, Basso Continuo, and Ensemble Music;
  • Cipriana Smarandescu: Harpsichord, Basso Continuo, and Ensemble Music.
Alongside their teaching activities, the ensemble will also perform in one of the festival concerts, presenting the programme "Un Cavalier di Spagna", devoted to Italian and Spanish repertoire from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The educational role of Associazione Dolci Accenti, developed through the Galan Academy and strengthened by the experience gained over the years through its training programmes and the creation of educational hubs in Sassari and Caltanissetta, will provide valuable expertise to this new initiative. This shared experience is expected to contribute significantly to the festival's international profile and to its long-term development as a leading educational project in the field of early music.

The invitation to the Barockada Festival represents an important milestone for Ensemble Dolci Accenti and reflects the growing international recognition of its artistic and educational activities, further strengthening its presence within the European early music community.
