The rooms of the Museo Civico take on the chiaroscuro nuances of the English seventeenth century, in a program that offers a profound connection with the moods of the era. The concert celebrates the poetics of melancholy of John Dowland on the occasion of the fourth centenary of his death (1626-2026), paying homage to the undisputed master of the lute and his illustrious contemporaries, from William Lawes to Robert Johnson and Thomas Morley. Through the intimate and rigorous dialogue between the voice of Carine Tinney and the instrument of Franco Pavan, the program outlines a soundscape made of shadows and lights, silences and passions. The performance for voice and lute restores the intrinsic adherence of music to Elizabethan poetry, renewing that search for beauty and emotional truth that made the British literature of the time a model of absolute and eternal elegance.
