17 November/19h00 Belgium / Brussels
The solo madrigals of the interludes from La Pellegrina
Concert/lecture
The six interludes from La Pellegrina, performed in Florence in 1589, encapsulate the aesthetics of the Renaissance while laying the foundations for Baroque music through the introduction of madrigals for solo voice and basso continuo. The extensive documentation on their performance is quite unique, and their plethora of instruments testifies to a significant search for instrumental colours. In this concert-lecture, Nicolas Achten will share the status of his doctoral research (ULB/CrB), focusing on the solo passages of these intermezzos.
Nicolas Achten, baritone and chitarrone Sojeong Im, soprano Justin Glaie, bass lute François Dambois, chitarrone
This event is part of the Hall of Curiosity artistic research day at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Joseph Jongen Auditorium, 17 Rue du Chêne - 1000 Brussels
Free admission, no reservation required
