Coloquio 6 in Czech Republic

10 November/19h00 Czechia / Brno

The Concentus Moraviae Festival is now in its third year as a member of the consortium behind the pan-European S-EEEmerging project and, as such, supports the sustainable development of young early music ensembles. The festival will also delight its fans outside the festival season: it has invited the outstanding wind sextet Coloquio 6 to the Moravian capital and, together with its partner early music subscription series ‘B. M. Willi presents…’, is inviting the audience to a magical evening. The Magic Flute: Animating Mozart invites audiences into the imaginative world of one of Mozart’s most beloved operas through an intimate encounter between music and animation.
In this wordless adaptation, Coloquio 6 performs a carefully selected sequence of arias and instrumental passages that follow the story’s emotional journey, from humour and tenderness to mystery and wonder. Alongside the music, Dax Niesten’s minimalist animations give shape to Mozart’s characters and create a poetic visual thread that allows the narrative to unfold beyond language. At its heart, The Magic Flute is a tale of courage, friendship, love, and transformation. Music itself, embodied by the magic flute, becomes a guiding and protective force, helping the characters through moments of danger and uncertainty. Through the combination of sound and image, this production reveals the timeless power of the opera to move, delight, and speak to audiences of all ages.
