Johann Sebastian Bach
Christmas Oratorio BWV 248 (Parts I–III)

Launched in 2013 by the International Bach Academy Stuttgart on the initiative of Friederike Rademann, this annual dance project brings musical masterpieces "up close" to young people from a wide variety of backgrounds and educational backgrounds. Over several months of work and rehearsals, it becomes a physical experience. This opens the ears, eyes and hearts of both participants and audience members alike. After impressive dance performances of major works by Johann Sebastian Bach, such as the St Matthew Passion, the St John Passion and, most recently, together with music by other Baroque composers in the production "Gefühlsgewirr" (Emotional Turmoil), we now return to his famous Christmas Oratorio.
Together with choreographer Friederike Rademann, the enthusiastic young people reflect on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in terms of content, physicality and staging. As always, the musical interpretation is provided by the Bach Academy ensemble. This incomparable performance of the Christmas Oratorio promises a festive and family-friendly evening of dance with unforgettable moments.
