Bach / Reich
01 March France / Lyon
From The Art of Fugue to Piano Phase
Johann Sebastian Bach's major work, The Art of Fugue, is presented by Gilles Dumoulin and Anne-Catherine Vinay in an original version that highlights counterpoint, the art of musical dialogue that the Leipzig Cantor brought to its peak. Composer Steve Reich's minimalist language addresses this same dialogue with Piano Phase. Two major works performed by an astonishing duo that, by bringing together the harpsichord and the marimba, build a bridge spanning several centuries.
