Let’s get to work! A walking concert with the Bremen Town Musicians | zamus: early music festival 2026

From 25 May to 25 May Germany / Köln

[hanse]Pfeyfferey

Lilli Pätzold – cornetto
Laura Dümpelmann – pommer, arrangements
Alexandra Mikheeva – slide trumpet, trombone
Andreas Gilger – presenter

The Bremen-based ensemble [hanse]Pfeyfferey revives the ancient tradition of the town pipers in a trio formation. Historical music resounds from towers, squares and winding alleyways, played on wind instruments suitable for open-air performances, such as the pommer and slide trumpet. During a guided walk through Cologne city centre, musical performances by [hanse]Pfeyfferey are combined with informative commentary from presenter and musician Andreas Gilger. The starting point is the Kolumba Museum; the route leads via further stops to the Basilica of St. Aposteln. Along the way, participants can expect a special blend of sound and narrative perspective: a journey through music, history and city life.

Walking concert accessible to hearing aid and cochlear implant users via an induction loop system.
