The troubadours were poets and musicians whose poetic and musical activity developed mainly in the courts of Western Europe, particularly in 12th- and 13th-century France and the Kingdom of Aragon. The troubadours combined music and poetry in the service of the ideal of courtly love, with love and heartbreak being the main themes of troubadour poetry. The need to express this musically led to the emergence of various genres (canso, pastorel·les, albes...). Capella de Ministrers takes us on an evocative journey into the Middle Ages, accompanied by troubadours such as Berenguer de Palou and Ponç d'Ortafà, who are associated with the figure of Jaume I ‘the Conqueror’, among others.
