In this concert programme, Capella de Ministrers delves into the fascinating world of the Uppsala Songbook, a jewel of Renaissance music that transports us to times gone by, full of romance and passion. The Uppsala Songbook, also known as the Songbook of the Duke of Calabria, is a musical treasure trove containing a collection of Spanish Christmas carols. It was compiled at the court of Ferdinand of Aragon, Duke of Calabria, in Valencia. Published in 1556 in Venice by Girolamo Scotto, this compendium offers us a diversity of compositions in various styles and for different vocal configurations.
Beatriz Lafont, Renaissance guitar / voice
