A night with Handel at the Palacio del Infantado in Guadalajara

25 July Spain / Guadalajara

At 26 years old, Handel settled in London. The capital of the thriving British Empire was a cultural melting pot attracting artists from across Europe. While French taste had long dominated European courts, in recent years it had begun blending with Italian style. Dieupart—conservative and not particularly favorable to the newcomer Handel's style—and Geminiani, a pupil of the renowned Corelli, represented these competing trends through which Handel navigated to forge his own distinctive musical language.
Thanks to the generous support of the Fundación Siglo Futuro, this small format program will be presented at the Palacio del Infantado in Guadalajara—a true gem of architectural heritage in the heart of the Alcarria. Prepare to be enchanted by music and history in one of Spain’s most breathtaking settings!
