0-12 MUSICA FAMILIARE: SULLE ALI DELLA FOLLIA
26 October Italy / Modena
Sunday 26 October, Modena
Galleria Estense, H. 10.30 AM
CALEIDOSCOPIO CORELLI
Teodoro Baù viola da gamba
Andrea Buccarella harpsichord
This concert in the two editions, in the evening and for children, will give the opportunity to discover the great baroque musician Arcangelo Corelli in a completely new light, with unexpected sounds. His famous Violin Sonatas will come to life in transcriptions for viola da gamba and basso continuo, taken from a manuscript of the time preserved in Paris, which enhance the cantabile qualities and versatility of the French baroque instrument par excellence. The program is enriched with the sublime Chaconne in G major and two sonatas by Georg Friedrich Händel, pieces that reveal clear influences of Italian style and Corellian genius. This will create a sound bridge between two giants of baroque music, a true kaleidoscope of sounds among the pictorial masterpieces of the Gallery. On Sunday morning, however, he will propose the famous Follia, alongside other pieces, on the wings of variations and the imagination of the great composer.
