REMA continues its commitment within the SHIFT Culture project

REMA continues its commitment within the SHIFT Culture project
For the second consecutive year, participating networks, including REMA, have worked to implement the SHIFT Culture eco-guidelines for cultural networks, developed during the original SHIFT project.

Each network has applied the mandatory guidelines along with selected optional recommendations from the framework within its organisation. They have also taken part in peer audits with fellow networks and attended an online development workshop. Finally, Vector42 has audited each network to ensure the credibility and integrity of the certification process.

These eco-guidelines were specifically designed for and by network organisations. While these organisations are often small in size, they have significant influence, with travel being the primary contributor to their environmental impact. The buddy and peer audit system fosters connections between networks around climate action. A key feature of our joint workshop in autumn 2024 was the sharing of best practices that participants had developed and implemented as part of the SHIFT Culture community. Participants also contributed to the ongoing review of the guidelines as we approach the final year of the eco-certificate pilot phase.

"We continue to be impressed and inspired by the way eco-certificate participant networks have brought their eco-guidelines to life through their performance in the audits and in their learning with the community."
— Caro Overy, Green Arts Manager, Culture for Climate Scotland
