Discover the 2024 winners of the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition
The National Centre for Early Music is delighted to announce the winners of this year’s York Early Music International Young Artists Competition.

York Early Music International Young Artists Competition 1st Prize WINNER: Ayres Extemporae
The ensemble receives a professional recording contract from Linn Records, £1,000 cash prize, and a future paid engagement with the York Early Music Festival and recording opportunities with BBC Radio 3.

We’d like to thank all the other ensembles for their encouragement, friendship and brilliant musicianship. We’re looking forward to York and recording with Linn Records in the future.”

Prize for the most promising Young Artist or Group: Ensemble Bastion
A cash prize of £1,000 for the MOST PROMISING YOUNG ARTIST/S was awarded to Ensemble Bastion, for the most promising young artist/s specialising in the Baroque repertoire, endowed by the EUBO Development Trust.

The Cambridge Early Music prize: [hanse] Pfeyfferey 
[hanse] Pfeyfferey scooped the CAMBRIDGE EARLY MUSIC PRIZE, a paid performance at their venue.

The Friends of York Early Music Festival prize: Apollo’s Cabinet 
UK based Apollo’s Cabinet won the Friends of York Early Music Festival cash prize of £1000.
