With the cantata TVWV 1:616, Georg Philipp Telemann has bequeathed us a motto that is still encouraging today.
In 1721 he was appointed Cantor Johannei and Director Musices at the five main churches in Hamburg. He worked
successfully here for 46 years and was also a celebrated composer far beyond the city limits, even throughout Europe.
On 17 September, he conducted church music with exactly the three cantatas documented on this CD for the first time.
