On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of his death, this year the Bach Society is devoting itself intensively to the composer Johannes Brahms. The Romantic composer's pronounced historicism is the focus of the programme when, among other works, his op. 109, the Fest- und Gedenksprüche, meet the Musikalische Exequien by Heinrich Schütz (whose 350th death anniversary is this November).
