Introduction to Gregorian chant

Students on this course will have the opportunity to experience first-hand what it was like to be a medieval singer. Pieces from the Gregorian repertoire will introduce them to a living vocal gesture as still practised in the oral traditions of other cultures and as suggested by the very spelling of the earliest manuscript sources.
