SFRENATO | Guerre, assedi e assassini: musica visionaria ai tempi degli Asburgo
27 November 2024/ Italy / Pavia
In this exciting program, Rýnský presents its beloved core repertoire - the sonatas of Ignazio Albertini - in the context of other works by notable 17th century composers connected to Austria. The murderous virtuoso Pandolfi Mealli meets the tragically assassinated Albertini; Biber, the unmatchable famous violinist, meets Poglietti, a quirky genius of mysterious origin…
Delightful preludes, passages of unrestrained fantasy and intricate fugues make up the sonatas, toccatas and canzoni of these authors, who all flourished in an unstable post-war context full of doubts, hopes, and unusual artistic expressivity. Rýnský seeks out to bring the individual flair of each composer by examining their rhetorical tools, creatively realizing the basso continuo and giving space for the unbound nature of the violin parts in their pieces.
