Passiontide in Bruges

With no fewer than three iconic Baroque works for Lent, Concertgebouw Brugge will get you in a meditative mood this spring. Ensemble Correspondances will kick off the cycle on 17 March with Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu nostri – and his Klag-Lied sung by Lucile Richardot – followed one week later by Bach’s St. John’s Passion by Collegium Vocale Gent & Philippe Herreweghe. Resident artist Vox Luminis will then team up with the Freiburger Barockorchester for St. Matthew’s Passion on 7 and 8 April, just in time before the Easter celebration. Vocal excellence, in one of Europe’s finest halls.
