Maria Moramarco, qui s'est toujours engagée dans le travail de récupération de la tradition orale, se fait ici l'interprète d'un répertoire moins connu de l'Alta Murgia de Bari. Il s'agit d'un voyage évocateur à travers le "chant de l'esprit" : textes dévotionnels, chants liturgiques, prières archaïques et litanies ancestrales qui stimulent la vocalité exceptionnelle de Maria. Dans ce répertoire particulier, elle fait preuve d'une extraordinaire capacité à reproposer des méthodes de chant aujourd'hui disparues, des techniques vocales d'une culture qui n'a jamais été codifiée, mais qui est très présente dans ces répertoires Maria Moramarco, who has always been committed to recovering the oral tradition, here interprets a lesser-known repertoire from Bari's Alta Murgia. It's an evocative journey through the 'song of the spirit': devotional texts, liturgical songs, archaic prayers and ancestral litanies that stimulate Maria's exceptional vocalism. In this particular repertoire, she demonstrates an extraordinary ability to reproduce singing methods that have now disappeared, vocal techniques from a culture that has never been codified, but which is very present in these magnificent and unexplored repertoires. Maria, while pursuing her scrupulous philological research, manages to achieve levels of communication with audiences that are of great spiritual fascination, thanks to her particular way of 'singing the voice'.

Maria Moramarco comes from a family of 'singers', is a language teacher at a classical high school, and is both a researcher and a performer. Her repertoire includes many of Murgia's songs, the fruit of patient research that began in the 1970s and has never been completed.
