Monika Drasch and friends
Monika Drasch (violin, flutes, bagpipes, vocals)
Prof Moritz Eggert (fortepiano, harpsichord)
Martin Danes (baritone)
Prof Klaus Wolf (texts, speaker)
He was an extraordinary man: Napoleon Bonaparte - the beautiful, the powerful, the unpredictable. Hardly any other potentate has been sung about as often as Napoleon I. He was also initially loved in Bavaria - after all, he turned the electorate into a kingdom. However, when 30,000 Bavarian soldiers had to go to Russia to fight a hopeless war on behalf of the emperor, the Bavarian people were stirred. Many folk songs sang derisively about the ‘Bonapartl’, who ‘burnt his nose’ near Moscow. Whether you admire or despise him is perhaps just a matter of taste.
