The viol pieces by Marin Marais, known to the public since Pascal Quignard's Tous les Matins du Monde, are among the most beautiful pages of Baroque music. Marais made the viol speak, to the point where it could be said that with him, the instrument had almost the perfection of the human voice. From Folies d'Espagne to Tombeau pour Monsieur de Sainte Colombe, this programme revisits the life of Marais and his master, the unforgettable Monsieur de Sainte Colombe.
