International Early Music Course 2024
From 24 July 2024 to 30 July 2024/ Italy / Rivara (Torino, Italy)
The International Early Music Course is part of a strategic project of the Antiqua festival, founded in 1995 and aimed at presenting listeners with top-quality performers in the field of Early Music.
With this event, the main objective of Accademia del Ricercare is to involve a young audience and offer students the opportunity of a holistic education, guiding them in their careers as musicians. During this time of significant transformation and change, Accademia del Ricercare is determined to promote one of the most important cultural events of Historical Informed Performance in Italy.
The 2024 edition of the course will take place from 24 to 30 July, once again in the splendid location of the city of Rivara (Turin, Italy). Like every edition, this one too will be geared towards maximum interaction between students of all levels, with the aim of raising the level of concert activities and musical performances.
As Early Music is fundamentally ensemble music, the Accademia del Ricercare, by the will of the artistic director of the course, Manuel Staropoli, and for its 27th edition, wants to develop the practice of chamber music more and more, stimulating the creation of new ensembles. This year will also be the great return of an international guest of the highest calibre, the recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger! The course will be open to pre-established ensembles, young talents and enthusiasts of all ages, giving the opportunity to attend the main courses either as active students or as auditors. It will also be possible to participate in the consort and improvisation group courses. In addition to individual and group lessons, the students will perform in two public concerts as part of the Antiqua 2024 festival, gaining the opportunity to share their musical experiences and to share the stage with teachers who regularly perform in the world's best halls.

With the funds raised during the Antiqua concerts, scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving students to support their musical career. Also worth mentioning is the opening concert of the course, which will feature the best students of the past edition. Similarly, at the end of the week, the best students will be selected to perform in next year's opening concert.
