Concert: Maria Antonia Walpurgis - 300th birthday of a composing regent
Maria Antonia, born in Munich in 1724, was a Wittelsbach Princess of Bavaria. When she, one of Europe's "best parts", married the Saxon Elector Friedrich Christian at the age of 23, the Dresden court composer Johann Adolf Hasse wrote the festive opera. She gained international recognition as a composer, singer, lute virtuoso and harpsichordist, but also as a poet and painter. The programme features her works and works by J.A. Hasse, G.B. Ferrandini and J.G. Naumann.
