Princesses loved them, aristocratic ladies played them in the salons of Paris: the pardessus de viole, the tiniest instrument in the viola da gamba family, enchanted French society in the 18th century. This concert features two original instruments from Parisian master workshops that survived the turmoil of the subsequent revolution.
