GRANDEZZE & MERAVIGLIE - 27th FESTIVAL MUSICALE ESTENSE

"Grandezze & Meraviglie - Festival Musicale Estense" returns this autumn with 24 concerts, cultural events, and school activities. Dedicated to promoting the rarities of ancient and baroque music, this year's program spans from Medieval repertoires such as the "Roman de Fauvel" to Renaissance works including sacred music from the Sistine Chapel and music by women composers. The festival also features Baroque music like Legrenzi's rare "Dies Iræ" and Bononcini's music from Biblioteca Estense's manuscripts, and classical chamber music featuring Mozart's early quartets and Beethoven's wind music.

In addition to these performances, Grandezze & Meraviglie offers colloquiums and interdisciplinary cultural conferences, as well as informative musical analyses, such as a focus on J. S. Bach's "The Art of Fugue".
