Danza !
05 March 2025/ France / Lyon
XVII century Spanish baroque music.
A vocal recital accompanied by guitars, castanets and percussion, Danza! presents the Spanish music played in the Baroque Paris. Sanguine passions, bitter laments and rousing harangues come to life over dance rhythms, reminding us of Spain's place in court ballets under Louis XIV and the French infatuation with Iberian fever. Vincent Dumestre and Le Poème Harmonique continue their Spanish journey in a festive, choreographic tone.
PROGRAMME:
Court melodies, tonos humanos and dances by Henry de Bailly, Etienne Moulinié, Luis de Briceño...
DISTRIBUTION:
Le Poème Harmonique
Vincent Dumestre, theorbo, guitar and direction
Isabelle Druet, soprano
Fiona-Emilie Poupard, violin
Lucas Peres, viola da gamba
Simon Guidicelli, double bass
Joël Grare, percussion
