D'Amore
13 December 2024/ Germany / Nuremberg
With "D'Amore", Les Passions de l'Âme performs a moving concert programme for the Advent season together with internationally acclaimed singers.
We immerse ourselves in four different but (music-historically) related sound universes of the composers J. S. Bach, Chr. Graupner, G. Ph. Telemann and C. P. E. Bach. We dedicate ourselves to the d'Amore instruments and the greatest possible Baroque love: the love of God. It is sung in two Christmas cantatas, sometimes devoutly or even sensually, as if it were the greatest love duet in an opera!
CHRISTOPH GRAUPNER (1683-1760)
Suite for viola d'amore, bassoon, strings and harpsichord in G major, GWV 458
JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH (1685-1750)
"Dearest Jesus, my desire"
Cantata for soprano and bass, BWV 32
GEORG PHILIPP TELEMANN (1681-1767)
Concerto for viola d'amore, oboe d'amore and flute, TWV 53:E1
CARL PHILIPP EMANUEL BACH (1714-1788)
"Auf, schicke Dich recht feierlich" (Christmas music), Cantata, Wq 249
Soloists: Hana Blažíková (soprano), Jan Börner (countertenor), Mirko Ludwig (tenor), Dominik Wörner (bass), Germàn Echeverri and Sabine Stoffer (viola d'amore), Anne Parisot (traverso), Gustav Friedrichson (oboe), Gabriele Gombi (bassoon)
Orchestra: Les Passions de l'Âme
Conductor: Meret Lüthi
