Music conference: in search of Joachim Van Den Hove
12 September 2024/ France / Orléans
Like the piano in the 19th century, in the 16th and 17th centuries the lute played a key role in Flemish and Dutch musical and everyday life. The reserves of the Orléans media library hold a precious bestseller of the period, the Florida Sive Cantiones, a book of pieces by the great Dutch lutenist Joachim Van den Hove. How did this score, printed in Utrecht in the 17th century, make its way to Orléans? That's what musicians Benjamin Perrot and Florence Bolton, artistic directors of the ensemble La Rêveuse, are offering you to discover.
