CONCERT: MARC VILAJUANA

14 June 2024/21h30/ Spain / Valencia

MEDIEVAL MUSIC · SAN JUAN DEL HOSPITAL
9:30 p.m. - Talk/interview with the artist. By: Ángela García-Villanueva
10:30 p.m. - Concert: ESPIRITUALIDAD PLURAL | Gregorian chant

Marc Vilajuana proposes a Gregorian approach through a solo concert where the audience experiences, graphically, the ancient manuscripts and their translation, indirectly, into sound.
The activity aims to provide the audience with a first contact with primitive musical notations and their relationship with orality, the perception of the natural acoustics of spaces, a brief liturgical context, and, above all, the tasting of plainchant, this repertoire that is the foundation of Western music. Vilajuana's holistic training and scenic background provide him with an open and synesthetic perspective on understanding the arts and a quick and interactive connection with the audience.

In Gregorian music, there are two instruments: voice and space; and three themes: history, subtlety, and beauty.
