CONCERT: CLAROSCURO - CAPELLA DE MINISTRERS
16 November 2024/ Spain / Madrid
Claroscuro. The Time of Cervantes.
This concert is a tribute to Miguel de Cervantes and is built around the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque in Spanish music, from 1500 to 1650. It features courtly repertoire, music for the theater, and pieces referenced in the works of Spain’s greatest literary figure, Miguel de Cervantes, where we find an inexhaustible source of references to musical customs, dance, and the music of 16th- and early 17th-century Spain.
The work of Capella de Ministrers, directed by Carles Magraner, is reflected in the more than 1,500 concerts they have performed since their founding in 1987, as well as their extensive discography, all of which have been highly praised by audiences and critics, receiving national and international awards from institutions and professional magazines.
