The 14th Bach Academy focusses on the essentials. If you add up the 'letter values' of the name Bach, the total is 14, a number that regularly appears in the music of Leipzig’s famous Thomas Cantor. In two concerts Collegium Vocale Gent and Philippe Herreweghe shed light on both Bach's darker and lighter side. Organist Francesca Ajossa takes us along to the Romantic instrument in the Carmelite Church. Les Muffatti come to Bruges with three of Bach's solo concertos. Ensemble Explorations delve deep into Bach’s The Art of Fugue. And Isabelle Faust makes Bach's solo violin works shine like never before!
