For the basses: German music diverted

31 January 2025/ Belgium / Brussels

This original project brings together all the bass classes of the Early Music section. Violone, viola da gamba, double bass, cello, violin bass, organ, recorder, bassoon, vocals, harpsichord, lute, theorbo... If you like the low tones and superb ensemble music of 17th and 18th century German-speaking countries in a joyful blend, this concert is for you. It's part of a broader theme, the common thread running through our Department for this year 2024-2025: ornamentation in all its forms. It will feature original works for these instruments, as well as transcriptions and adaptations of Baroque string compositions.
