Experimental workshop on "The 13th-century French motet".

This course brings together students of several levels. It operates on the principle of an experimental workshop which aims, through the performance of pieces, to put into practice Brice Duisit's research work on the thirteenth-century French motet. 

This research is based on an original, in-depth study of musical notation. In addition to the performance of the pieces chosen, the aim is to examine the functions, motivations and purpose of musical notation in a medieval society where knowledge was essentially transmitted orally.
