Applications are open for the Leymen MedRen Summercourse!

France / Leymen

The "Kaleidoscope" summer academy takes its name from a concept dear to Sollazzo, and crucial in the learning of Medieval and Renaissance music: the multitude of possible approaches to these repertoires, and the validity of different points of view.
Like a kaleidoscope, which is a concrete illustration of how something new can be created by simply re-arranging what existed before, this academy offers participants the chance to experiment with different ways of reading these repertoires, and encourages them to use these approaches to create their own interpretations, respecting both the sources and their own musical personality
We are pleased to announce that applications for the second edition of the Leymen Medieval and Renaissance Summer Course are now open! For this brand new edition we offer Individual and ensemble coaching sessions imparted by Jonatan Alvarado, Mara Winter, Anna Danilevskaia, Elam Rotem, as well as historical theory and notation lessons by Tim Braithwaite.
Focusing around the Madrigal, one of the most layered and multifaceted genres in the Early Music canon, we aim to stimulate the exchange between different approaches and insights in a highly experimental context.
If you are interested and want to know more, feel free to reach us via Application end on the 31/03/2024.
