17 October 2024/ Italy / Vignola (MO)
Thursday 17 October VIGNOLA, Rocca, Sala dei Contrari, H. 9 PM
AL SUON DELL’ARMONIOSE SFERE dalla frottola al ricercare
Danilo Pastore countertenor
Roberto Mattioni tenor
Mare Nostrum ensemble
Andrea De Carlo Director
The ancient theory of a cosmos composed of sonorous spheres led by angels has fascinated poets and composers, inspiring earthly melodies as an echo of those heavenly ones, which tell about human life and affections. The concert traces a path between earthly sense and aspiration to the divine, exploring the sixteenth century through the streets and palaces of Rome. The music of Kapsberger, Tromboncino, Palestrina, Frescobaldi, Cara and other rarities recreate the sound of the city between the fifteenth and seventeenth century. The consort of violas, organ, harpsichord, tiorba and baroque guitar, combined with the voices of tenor and countertenor, returns the soundscape that animated the eternal city and the main Italian courts between Renaissance and Baroque.
