500 Years of Hamburger Ratsmusik

06 November 2022/ Germany / Hamburg

In 2022 the Hamburger Ratsmusik can look back on half a millennium of musical history in Hamburg, as it was in 1522 that the city first employed "Spielleute" (town players). This anniversary comes up against Heinrich Schütz’ 350 Anniversary of death. He himself had met the town musicians in Hamburg, travelling northwards. The concert features their works as well as of Schütz’ pupils’.
