Il Lautenwerk, un clavicembalo raro

From 21 March 2024 to 21 March 2024/ Italy / Mondovì

The Concert will be streaming on the Academia Montis Regalis FACEBOOK page at 6pm (Rome time zone).
For the European Day of Baroque Music, the Academia Montis Regalis offers an evocative concert by the well-known harpsichordist Franz Silvestri. For the occasion he will play “a Lautenwerk”, a rare harpsichord strung in gut, a european instrument of the Baroque period, or which Johann Sebastian Bach had a great interest.
The program outlines an attractive picture of the harpsichord literature that flourished between the beginning of the 17th and the middle of the 18th century, starting from Girolamo Frescobaldi and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, arriving at the great Bach. Two preludess of the latter will be played, originally conceived for the lute and the monumental Ciaccona hat closes the Partita in D minor BWV 1004, one of the most iconic works of the great Cantor of Leipzig, written in memory of his beloved wife Maria Barbara.
