Pietro Nardini and his contemporaries
Pietro Nardini (1722–1793) was a well-known violinist and composer in his time and a pupil of Giuseppe Tartini in Padua. The Freunde Alter Musik Basel and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis are taking the 300th anniversary of his birth as an opportunity to look at the European repertoire of the 1760s and 1770s. In addition to works by Nardini, contemporary compositions by Giuseppe Cambini and W.A. Mozart will be heard – a panorama of European music.

The Orchestra ‘ad astra’ of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis is playing under the direction of Leila Schayegh, who will also play the solo parts.
