With over 50 famous musicians and composers, the Bachs are undeniably one of the most musical families ever. The greatest of all the Bachs, ‘Sebastian’ to his friends, is owed a huge debt of gratitude here: not only did he ensure that all of his sons became musicians, he also trained a steady stream of pupils to become his ‘spiritual children’. This tenth Bach Academy Bruges opens the door on Bach's private life and on that of his family. A memorable occasion, made even more unforgettable because in 2020 we will be feting our guest of honour Philippe Herreweghe, whose Collegium Vocale Gent is celebrating its 50th birthday.
