Thomas Höft - Attems Saga

A new music theatre by Thomas Höft: Times are changing at Palais Attems - the venue that still exists in the Old City centre of Graz and hosts the first two days of this triple event: Empress Maria Theresa, whose visit last year everyone had hoped for in vain, wants to reform Austria and tax the nobility. Not a pleasant prospect for Ignaz Maria Count Attems and his sister Marianne, who are forced to put aside their animosities for the time being and work together. To this end, they not only seek help from their influential uncle Franz von Attems, canon of Vorau Abbey, but also polish up their ageing palace. And the Attems siblings proudly invite the citizens of Graz to view the house. Maestro Amadeus Höll (director and harpsichordist Michael Hell) and his "Palais Attems court orchestra" ensure that there is lively music everywhere, with music by Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn.
