For more than fifteen years, Scherzi Musicali has been a leading ensemble in the world of early music, renowned for its work on the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble gathers 3 to 40 musicians around Nicolas Achten (°1985), one of the few singers who accompanies himself on lute, theorbo, harp or harpsichord. Scherzi Musicali performs throughout Europe in the most prestigious concert halls and festivals. Their discography includes 13 albums, including 11 world premieres (ea. Caccini, Mazzocchi, Bertali, Sances, Scarlatti, Colonna, the Brussels-based Fiocco or the Liège-based Hamal) published by Ricercar, Alpha, Sony and Musique en Wallonie.
