Operabus tour with the show "L'ARCHEOLOGOTOBUS"
From 03 September 2024 to 07 September 2024/ France / Nord and Pas-de-Calais
"L'archéologotobus" is a show that humorously questions the absence of women in baroque musical history. This inglorious aspect of our history, at least in the light of our current questioning of gender equality, nevertheless favoured the birth of the countertenor voice to compensate for the lack of a high voice within choirs. This voice, which reached its peak in the Renaissance period but seems to have found a place in our contemporary repertoire since the middle of the twentieth century, remains both fascinating and unknown to the public, too often associated with the famous Italian castrati.
Through various references, from Woody Allen to Monty Python, via Alexandre Astier and Stanley Kubrick, countertenor Cecil Gallois and theorbist Justin Glaie, take on the role of two failed Indiana Joneses of the future with humour and self-mockery, in search of women's voices through the ages. You will discover some very well-known pieces, others less so.
