Nikolaus Harnoncourt: “Art is a different language, always beyond the practical, often beyond the logical; one of its foundations of thought is the imagination, perhaps the ‘thinking of the heart’ as Pascal contrasts it with logic, with ‘arithmetical’ thinking.”
