The Sound of Music in Versailles - Les Talens Lyriques
From 12 November 2024 to 28 November 2024/ United States / San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson, Montréal (Canada), Nice (France)
"Presenting French music is something that is never done enough in Europe, and it is even rarer in the United States. So this is an excellent opportunity with this wonderful tour we are offering, which will end in Canada in Montreal before returning to France.
We are presenting a very coherent program, starting with Lambert, Lully’s father-in-law, continuing with Montéclair, one of the highlights of the French cantata in the 18th century, and finishing with Couperin, who is very dear to my heart and whose works I have played almost in their entirety. He is a composer who has guided me from the beginning of my career and continues to do so today.
I am accompanied on this tour by mezzo-soprano Ambroisine Bré, who has perfect diction and technique for this type of French "Lullist" program. We have recorded a lot of Lully together. I am also fortunate to reunite with my loyal section leaders, Gilone Gaubert on violin and Emmanuel Jacques on cello. Last but not least, Benjamin Chénier also joins us."
