CONCERT: CAPELLA DE MINISTRERS - NÓMADAS
05 October 2024/18h00/ Spain / Algemesí, Valencia
It is difficult to understand which need arises first in each human community: the need to assert its identity as a people by singing the events of its history, or the need to affirm oneself as an individuals through the expression of feelings and opinions that can, in turn, be accepted as their own by the collective and sung together in their celebrations, both festive and mournful. In any case, both forms accompany the evolution of each people, almost from their origins, also receiving the influence of their ancestors and the different tribes whose territories they occupy, in an endless process of emigration, occupation, conquest, submission, and independence.
The results of this process are reflected today, to some extent, in the form of borders, cultures, and languages. Be that as it may, we use all these manifestations today as a pretext to believe in dialogue and understanding among cultures. From the testimonies distilled from Sufi mysticism and Christian faith that coexisted centuries ago in the same territories, nourishing each other, we inherit a unique cultural corpus reflected in the poetry and melodies we recover in this musical program.
Carles Magraner, vielle & viola
Jota Martínez, medieval lute, hurdy-gurdy, kopuz, citole, tambourine, and darbouka
Aziz Samsaoui, oud, qanun & zaz çura
Kaveh Sarvarian, ney & tombak
