28th Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza "Peregrinajes"

On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death, the most famous traveller in history, the FeMAUB 2024 is entitled "Pilgrimages". The festival invites us to discover the fascinating role that music played in historical communication routes. From religious pilgrimage routes, such as the "Camino de Santiago" or the Hindu Kumbhamela, to the commercial Silk Roads in Asia and the "Camino Real de Tierra Adentro" (The Royal Road of the Interior Land) in North America, the FeMAUB presents a sounding journey which explores the most important routes which interconnected cultures and people, served to the exchanges of ideas, languages and traditions, and shaped the modern world.
This year's concerts are devoted to music associated to this old communication routes, celebrating, in this way, the influence of music on history, spirituality, and human connections over the centuries.
