ANDREA BUCCARELLA, WINNER OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION MUSICA ANTIQUA 2018

Since 1964 MAfestival Bruges organizes every year the famous International Competition Musica Antiqua. The competition is open to young, highly qualified performers from all over the world, who specialize in the historically informed performance practice. The International Competition Musica Antiqua focused on the harpsichord in 2018.

Johan Huys (BE), Carole Cerasi (UK), Andrea Marcon (IT), Olga Martynova (RU), Skip Sempé (FR/US) and Menno van Delft (NL) were the members of the jury.

The winner of the International Competition Musica Antiqua 2018 is Andrea Buccarella (IT).

The jury also awarded these prizes:

  • 2nd prize: Alexander von Heißen (DE)
  • 3rd prize ex aequo: Anastasia Antonova (RU) - Cristiano Gaudio (IT)
  • Prize of the audience: Rossella Policardo (IT)
